Hi Sue, I'm knew to this form and I'm trying to figure a few things out. I have done extensive research on ILC HER2+. You are correct it is rare. I am from Kentucky and I have flown to New York to Memorial Sloan Kettering to speak with ILC specialists. Thank you for responding. The good thing is the HER2+ means it responds to treatment. However it is more aggressive. My cancer was 1cm. They found it while taking out suspicious calcifications. Because it was done in this order, I haven't had my lymph nodes out. I am meeting today in NY with drs. I will try to give you a full idea of what was said even though you's is ER/PR + receptive. I have concerns because of the linear growing and hard detection on imaging that more could be there and we just don't know it. Thank you for reaching out. Sounds like you are a researcher like me.

Hi Lara, you're unique you have form of Breast Cancer. Did you do any research, studying as to what is expected? Talk with your Oncologist and your surgeon if you have one. Here is what I found out

While HER2-positive cancers typically grow and spread faster, ILC has a distinct pattern of metastasis and may have different prognostic factors and treatment responses, often requiring a combination of HER2-targeted therapy, chemotherapy, and potentially endocrine therapy if hormone receptors are positive.

I just looked up 1cm which is .394 of an inch.
They have found this early.
