Ordinarily they don't order scans or blood work unless you are stage 4 to watch disease progression. If you are on chemo blood work will be ordered to check WBC . This issue comes up a lot here about no scans being done, its the insurance companies that won't pay for them just to check. Only if a woman feels something like a pain somewhere will her oncologist order a scan. Remember though, there is no way to prevent recurrence outside drug protocols the oncologist has a woman on. A scan only tells you when something is already there. The problem with this is it would be better and easier to treat a metastasis that is small and only in one place rather than a larger lesion and in multiple areas. The entire shitshow from diagnoses to observing through through the years is obscene.

Oh wow! I have Natera done every three month to watch for reoccurrence. Stage 2 grade 3. Ask your doctor if they still have a tissue sample at the lab, if they still have a sample ask him to do a Signatera test. You can read about the test on the web. Did you have chemo, rad and AI pill? I don't know much about her/2 but I would think you could still be tested. I had lobular carcinoma. Doesn't hurt to ask for blood and vitamin testing.

You did not say in your diagnose what your stage was.

You need to get your PCP to require blood tests for you. Ask to get them done now if you are concerned.
Figure out what blood tests you need + request a vitamin D test.

Make sure that you are taking Vitamin D and K during the day and magnesium at bedtime. Clear with your Dr.
Vitamin D is a cancer protective.

Thanks. At this point I view it as a maintenance plan. That's my coping mechanism. The PET scan finds a new cancer spot and then it gets aggressive treatment to kill it asap.
