Love that the Taxane drug finish line is in sight!! Woo-hoo!! Mine was Taxotere, and once we moved to Herceptin only as the targeted drug- it was so much easier! Keeping you in prayers as you finish one phase of treatment and move on to the next!! Hugs!

I finished chemo on July 7th and started radiation on August 18th which was 6 weeks after chemo ended. My radiation oncologist wanted to start radiation after 3-4 weeks, but I requested we wait until 6 weeks. This was the 2nd time I had chemo and it's the 5th time I am having radiation. I knew from the 1st time I had chemo that I wouldn't be recovered enough to deal with radiation 3-4 weeks after chemo ended. I'm currently being treated for my 2nd round of breast cancer and have gone through endometrial cancer which has come back 3 times. The 1st time I had chemo was for endometrial cancer and radiation started 3 weeks later and the whole process wiped me out so bad. I am really glad I waited 6 weeks after chemo to start radiation this time around. The extra 3 weeks made a big difference and gave me more time to recover and get my strength back, my appetite returned, food started to taste normal again, and I'm not needing to take 1 or 2 naps per day.

I think it somewhat depends on the doctor but it usually starts in four to eight weeks. It can akso depend on what kind of cancer you have and the stage of the cancer. Your health can also be a major factor. Wishing you the very best. Stay in touch. Endless hugs!
