I have Stage 2A Estrogen positive. Had a bilateral mastectomy 3 weeks ago.
I just recently started Lupron injections and will start Anastrozole in the next day or so. I struggled with the decision, especially being so young and the potential of having side effects the rest of my life. Great advice I got was to try it and see how it goes. The side effects won't all come at once and I may not have any or very few for that matter. I can always choose to stop, but want to make sure I'm doing all I can. Still scary though, that's for sure.
That would have been my advice, you can try it- a lot of women do well, or find the side effects minimal or at least manageable. If it is too challenging, they can reconsider the dosage, or try another drug. No one knows why some women tolerate one drug better than another, just another example of us all being unique!
