Cyprus

My plastic surgeon decided to do immediate reconstruction with implants the same day with surgery of mastectomy… if I new what would happened after this I would never agree… from one breast I had vary bad dermatological conflict that needed to be repaired with new surgery after few months and the other breast failed to receive proper position and so it needs operation again. For all these failures I had three operations in one year and one of the breast still needs another operation 😔

I have read from so many women here complications from reconstruction. I don't understand why this happens so often. I would think mastectomy traumatizes tissue and should heal first and then 3-6 months later begin reconstruction. I know me, I would have stayed flat to be done with it all.

Down the road when you are all healed and feel better, you can always get it done.

Hi Kate, so sorry to hear about this. This is one of the reasons I went flat. And I am quite happy about this. Remember, this is always an option. You can have them remove everything and hopefully that’s it. More and more women are doing this. It’s not good to put our bodies through so much trauma.

I understand Kate, this entire process is mentally and physically exhausting, I find the going back and forth to all the appointments both bothersome and tiring. The whole thing, getting up and ready, getting there, checking in, waiting, then the actual appointment or procedure over and over and over again.
Have a good day. Maybe give it a rest and maybe another time you can get this fixed. ❤️
