You can ask your surgeon to drain it. He’ll use a syringe and you won’t feel a thing because that area should still be numb. They usually go by the amount they drain to see if it’s significant or not. So they’ll also assess this in advance to see if drainage is necessary or not.

I had a seroma under my arm after my lumpectomy. The doctors wanted it to reabsorb, but it didn’t and it was uncomfortable, so they had to drain it.

Your surgeon should. My oncologist reached out to her when she was concerned about mine. My surgeon said if I was in pain I should make an appointment to be checked out. If not let them just run their course. You should be having a follow up with your surgeon about now...usually 6 months after surgery...

Who drained it? Your surgeon or oncologist? It’s been 7 months since my lumpectomy!

I had one as well. I had mine drained. Felt great afterwards.
