Citrus have natural aromatase inhibitors, so eating them while on AI pills, you get double the side effects. Or I did, anyway. I avoid citrus, eating apples, berries, etc.

While there are no specific restrictions on citrus fruits for people taking anastrozole, it's always best to check with your healthcare provider about any dietary concerns. The main dietary considerations while taking anastrozole relate more to maintaining a healthy weight and getting proper nutrition to support bone health.

Some strategies that can help while taking anastrozole include tracking your food intake, staying hydrated, and choosing nutritious foods that help maintain a healthy weight. If you're concerned about specific food interactions, bring this up at your next oncology appointment. For comparison, while grapefruit specifically has known interactions with some breast cancer medications like letrozole when combined with certain other drugs, this interaction is not listed as a concern with anastrozole. However, always inform your healthcare team about your typical diet and any supplements you take to ensure there are no individual contraindications.
