I have Invasive Lobular Carcinoma. Stage 1, 6 mm in the greatest dimension, Tumor- Focal. Estrogen Receptor - Positive Greater than 90% strong.
I hade a Lumpectomy Nov. 24, since it was so small according to my surgeon of close to 25 years. I never thought I would get breast cancer since it is not in my family! ( I was scared on my first ever Mammo , It turned out to be two sections of fat cris-crossed. They are still there and fine.) The surgery was simple for me. Recovery took a bit over a month.
Radiation started in Feb. 5th, 25. I had 20 sessions and the radiation accumulation is lasting another month! Then I start Anastrozole 1mg for five years.
My Surgeon told me at the Biopsy report, that this will not effect my life span.
My Radiation Oncologist said my breast will go back to normal within a month. Lets see if he is correct. I am healing slowly, I still have pink skin with all the tender, loving care I am giving it. I'm using hydrocortisone 1%, Aquaphor, and Silver Sulfadiazine cream 1% to combat the burn, and swelling. This was very uncomfortable . The swelling has subsided completely. The color is returning slowly in sections. So I Have Hope!
My Hematology Oncologist said I should Not have any side effects from my 1mg of Anastrozole. This is to be seen in the future as I have not started it.

I have both, lobular being the more dominant, as well. My testing showed that I have a 98-99% of survival. So if they haven't tested yet, you may want to ask for it.
