im taking ibrance and leperzole
I have had metastatic disease for at least two years maybe longer but I was diagnosed 2 years ago. I have lots of bone mets. So many in fact that they don't bother to identify where they are. But I don't have Mets anywhere else, as far as I know. I know I have Mets in my hips because my orthopedic doctor did an X-ray and I could see the lesions. I also had a biopsy to my left hip when I was first diagnosed so that they could determine the type of mets I have for purposes of treatment. Just in the last several months I have developed pretty significant pain in my hips. More so on the right side than the left currently. I use lots of over the counter pain patches as well as heat and massage from one of those seat massagers. When the pain gets to the point that it doesn't respond to all my every day tips and tricks I have prescription hydrocodone/Norco which works really well. Just for perspective reminder I had bone mets for 2 years without pain and radiation therapy has greatly reduced the level of discomfort. My first line treatment is Verzenio and Letrozole and what I have learned most of all is that you don't have to be sick on these drugs. If the side effects are impacting your quality of life talking to your doctor about it asking for a dose reduction or a change in medication is critical. I suffered way to long because I thought that's what I had to do. That's not necessarily my fault because I didn't know better but if I can minimize other people's suffering I will. Thanks for your question.
When breast cancer spreads to the bones, you may experience several symptoms including bone pain, neck and back pain, and bones that can break more easily during normal activities. Some people also experience weakness or numbness in their limbs. As the condition progresses, you may develop high calcium levels in your blood Show Full Answer
Sandra, I hear you. I buy pads to use especially when I go out to catch any leak while trying to get to a bathroom. If I suddenly cough and have not emptied my bladder, then its too late. I also have SOB issues from COPD, 75% of the time I am okay but coming up the stairs can be difficult. 🥰
Ditto to all that Barb just said including the COPD. I am bad about using my inhaler every day twice a day like I am supposed to but I went outside to top off feeders and fill squirrel food and I was panting by the time I got inside.
Thank you Barbara66, sometimes I get tired of all the daily stuff. I always sit in my recliner in my daughter’s living room with my I pad several drinks and anything else I may need. They have a split level house so bathroom is upstairs. I use a cane to help me up the stairs, hopefully to bathroom in time. I have become very incontinent lately, I can say I don’t enjoy it. I think it is from my kidney disease. I wear pull up with a pad, keep some dignity. I have shortness of breath when walking too far or doing something like showering. Anybody else have these issues?
