The surgeon said I would be staying overnight at the hospital. Any tips of what I should bring? Will it be a regular room or ICU?

Well, if you can extend your stay, I would. The first 3 days I needed someone to help me get up and hold me to go to bathroom. Nurses will do that. Hospital things to bring can be simple: slippers, your regular meds, baby wipes because you won’t be able to take a shower for a while, toiletries, washcloth, maybe those pockets for the drains. Other than that, I had overpacked and it wasn’t necessary. You stay mostly in the hospital gown and won’t have much desire to change or do many things besides rest.
