And what maintenance medications are you currently on? If you were to redo or change any of the above treatments, what would it be?
I am triple positive as well, stage 1a, grade 3. Had a double mastectomy. I am currently doing once a week for 12 weeks of taxol/Herceptin, will then do just Herceptin for nine months every 3 weeks. After that will be tamoxifen for 5 years.
I had the same diagnosis and treatment as Melissa. I had a bilateral mastectomy. I was scheduled for 12 taxol treatments but took only 8 because I felt neuropathy in my hands. None of my care team seemed concerned that I didn’t finish all 12 taxol treatments. Taxol was not bad for me. I was tired for two or three days of my weekly treatments but I rested then could do things I needed to do on those days. I didn’t even know I was taking the Herceptin. I have been taking anastrozole for two years and have had no trouble. I hope the best for you. 🌸
@A MyBCTeam Member, I'm sorry you're having side effects withe AIs. I too had problems with Letrizole and now am on exemestane. Still experiencing some joint pain esp to my right knee and foot but much less than with Letrizole. I pray that they come up with an alternative medication that will have less painful side effects for hormone receptor positive gals like us.
@A MyBCTeam Member I am glad that you’ve had no issues with Anastrozole. Let’s win this battle together 👍
