Thanks for the info. I told the urologist I want sedation for the cystoscopy. She said I would have to be intubated, which I replied. you said it would only take about 90 seconds. I said well I was asleep to colonoscopies and they take longer than that. I guess I will look for another dr. This make no sense to me why I would have to be intubated. Am I just being a big baby and not wanting it done while I am awake. I know also my scan showed a spot so she also will be doing a bx.
I'm triple-neg metastatic. It was already in my L hip when I was diagnosed. Since then, I've come down w/multiple UTIs. I've had several cystoscopies (YUK!) which only revealed cystitis (meaning inflammation only - no cysts). Antibiotics cleared up the UTIs and Pyridium calmed the bladder. BE ADVISED: Pyridium will turn your urine orange - it will look like you're bleeding when you get up from the toilet seat! Don't panic! It's supposed to do this. Hope this helps!
I did get bladder cancer a few years after my first bc, but the urologist said it was caused by the Cytoxin that was part if my chemo. He burned out the tumor using Cystoscopy, and I have yearly checkups using it. This was over 20 years ago and it has not returned in my bladder. Hope this helps. Good luck!
