Yes, Hormone positive cancer patients can often skip chemo, but will usually have an oral med recommended for 5-10 years.

HER2 positive (which is a protein, not a hormone) gets different drugs, chemo is almost always part of the protocols, then there are continued infusions of a targeted drug. Our protocol takes about a year (not counting surgery, etc.) and there is a pill we can take once the infusions are done- and we take that for a year.

If someone is Triple Negative, the treatment is usually a combination of the two protocols.

Any of the three scenarios may get radiation.
