Diagnosis May 13, 2022. Surgery with breast surgeon and plastic surgeon working together was Aug 5 2022, so almost 3 months. By the time the surgery day came, I was so relieved that the day was finally here that I didn´t think to be nervous.

It took about a month from diagnosis to them giving me a surgery date. The date was another month out, so about 2 months until I was getting the cancer out. Like J02 says, the delay was nerve wracking. I had to really work not to imagine it spreading, but believe in the mind-body connection so kept reminding myself thinking about that was not helpful and could even be harmful. Just try to keep busy and not focus on the worry.💕

I didn’t have lumpectomy but had double mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. My breast surgeon called me 3 days after I told her what I wanted to do. I waited 8 weeks from the time I was diagnosed - mammo on 10/4, diagnosed on 10/23 and surgery on 12/14.
It was nerve wrecking- thinking that that tumor was growing every day but there wasn’t much change. I was concerned about waiting so long so I called my radiologist- they said lot of people ask the same question and if it was urgent, I’d be in surgery the same day.
That kind of put me at ease..

It took about 2 weeks to have them call me back to get ultrasound after seeing something on mammogram then about a month for biopsy then an other month for surgery after surgery they sent me to oncologist & then radiologist then about a month after started radiation. I go back to see radiologist this month & oncologist next month.
