Im sceptical in taking meds that cause you more damage in your body than save you from cancer recurrence. Im in a big dilemma. I started letrozole last Nov and then took one month break and restarted last week but my whole body is in pain esp hips. So is it worth to be in meds for 5 years ( and risking to have osteoporosis) when you know that Out of 15% of recurrence you are safe only for 5%?

Hi. I completely understand your dilemma because it runs through my mind … in order to control this I have to take that which can then lead to this other ailment that without the use of these “drugs” I wouldn’t be having.

I completely understand the dilemma

I am in the same predicament. I have been on letrozole for almost five months and I feel terrible; hot flashes, muscle aches, tired all the time, anxiety, hair thinning and it affects bone density. I know I will not be able to stay on this drug for five years...the poor quality of life is not worth it. But I also know the doctor is not going to tell me it is okay to go off of it. So...what to do...

I started Anastrazole on March 2023 and lots of side effects and 2 months ago started a medicine for osteoporosis, this double the side effects, lam trying to not think so much on side effects and leave this on God’s hands.

Such terrible choices. Not to and risk cancer, take it and risk your body falling apart.
Something better needs to be found. This just isn't right.
Its like having 5000 dollars and choosing which way to gamble, each way coming out losing.

I'm also taking Anastrozol. I was already preposterous before cancer. I have only been on it since October or November can't remember 🙃. I have to have infusion at the oncologist office. I had my first one in Dec and the 28th of March I get another one. I've been told that the radiation treatments also did a number on my chest bones. I have been told that I have to be very careful not to get into a car accident or have any type of trauma to my ribcage. I understand how you feel. If you don't take the meds then you run the risk of the cancer coming back. But the meds destroy your body. All I can do is leave it in God's hands.
