@A MyBCTeam Member Yes my side affects from TCHP chemo started the second day after treatments and was diareah , mild nausea and fatigue .The nausea lasted about a week and the meds.helped.Thank u and I appreciate that ! I wish all the best as well:😊
I had the follow=up Herceptin, no Perjeta, and no real side effects except the fatigue. All the side effects from chemo gradually cleared while on Herceptin, including the fatigue. It was so much easier than the chemo (and faster too!) and yes, I kept my port until all the protocols were done! Wishing you all the best as you move into this phase! Hugs!
Trupti, double mastectomy with flat close. No, I am not doing reconstruction
@A MyBCTeam Member I had a nipple/ skin sparing unilateral masectomy with reconstruction consisting of Tissue expander for now due to fact we werent sure if I'd need radiation so had tissue expander put in at time if surgery. My plastic surgeon doesnt insert the permanent implant if radiation is to be done due to it changes the skin .After masectomy was done and my tissue was examined it turned out I didnt need radiation but am stuck with tissue expander until permanent implant is placed.But I will take the good news with the tissue expander any day 😜😊
I am Her2 positive as well. Did 12 rounds of Taxol with Perjeta and Herceptin every 3rd infusion. Finished the chemo portion end of September 2023. Double mastectomy last October. Currently on Herceptin/Perjeta until the end of July. The Herceptin causes me no issues other than fatigue. The Perjeta is hit or miss. Have had severe diarrhea from it, sometimes it makes my head feel like an overinflated balloon, heart racing episodes at times as well. My Oncologist has started giving me Benadryl iv first before my infusions and that has seemed to help so far. Still have my port until I finish treatments.
