I’m only on anastrozole. I had joint pain, mostly my knees and hands. My hair is thinning and my skin is looking thin and wrinkled. My oncologist recommended Glucosamine Chondroitin for the joint pain. And I could use collagen for the hair and skin but I’m a little afraid of collagen . I’ve read it shouldn’t be used with estrogen positive breast cancer.

Hi Kath, how have you been after taking Anastrozole for 2 years? Is it the only AI you have been on?

For managing hair loss and skin dryness while on anastrozole, consider the following:

Hair Care
- Medications and Supplements: Vitamin C, 5-alpha-reductase, omega-3s, and the CDK4/6 inhibitor palbociclib (Ibrance) may help. Consult your oncologist for suitable options.
