I feel kind of iffy on the blood tests. The goal is to test the blood, find the cancer cells, and get a recommendation of how to treat it. I work in breast cancer clinic. One of our incredibly wonderful metastatic patients had progressed. We did Guardant 360 blood test, which showed no recommendations for treatment. We sent the biopsy from the progression to Foundation One, who sent us treatment options.

I think a physical exam, check the chest wall for lumps, check labs. They always ask me: any new headaches/change in vision, shortness of breath, stomach pain, bone pain. If breast cancer spreads, it likes the brain, bones, lungs, liver. I wonder if they would do a CT of the chest once a year since no mammogram.
Good luck with your appointment!
I get anxious and bitchy before my annual mammogram and check up. But then I am so relieved it is fine.

Hi LauraAh,
You are the perfect person to ask. I just finished treatment and will have first 3 months check in October. No mention of scans, unless I have an issue. I had double mastectomy, so no mammograms. MRI in 5 years if I choose silicone implants when I complete my reconstruction. Don't qualify for Signatera, stage llA. What is done at followups for HER2 positive patients?

Wow. I never heard of it but that would be great. Much easier to get blood work done than getting scans.
