Surgery is scheduled for June 14th, and I am interested in before and after exercises, diet, and wisdom to avoid lymphoma.
This is the second lumpectomy in the right breast, but the first time I am having lymph nodes removed.
Massage you arms and neck to keep those glands from collecting fluid.
I had 4 lymph nodes removed with my lumpectomy. One was cancerous. I have not been told any way to massage to keep fluid down in my breast. Just that it is normal and will go away 'sometime'. It is not painful, just firm. I do massage it every day. Sorry about having surgery again. Stressful! Do your exercises! Stay strong. Try to be positive about your outcome. This is our life now.
I ended up with breast lymphedema after radiation. Drs are hoping it will resolve on its own over the next 6 months, I was fine after the lumpectomy, with sentinel node removal, followed Dr orders with lifting etc. no exercises were given to me. Radiation that caused my issues.
There arm compression sleeves that they sell to help prevent lymphedema.
I have lymphedema from one sentinel lymph node removal during my mastectomy followed by 5 weeks of radiation. I was prescribed Occupational Therapy which helped. Therapist massaged lymph to drain sites and gave me individualized exercises to do. I do not do my exercises consistently - need to work on them more.
