I am currently one month out of finishing chemo for the second time. My first diagnosis was 20 years ago. At that time I was teated with taxol. It took years of multiple tests and different doctors to get a diagnosis of peripheral neuropathy. It has been debilitating, interfering with my ability to be as mobile as I’d like. This time during chemo I mistakenly thought it was. the same neuropathy flaring up, only to realize now that it was lymphedema slowly professing. The doctors missed I , so did I. Discouraged!

Thank you. I’m only 6 weeks out from my chemo. The neuropathy is getting worse and it’s very discouraging.

@A MyBCTeam Member: Yup - in my fingertips and toetips. I'm 2 years out and still have it a tiny bit though it did improve some after I finished chemo. I was told by my onc that whatever you still have a year after you finish chemo, will likely be permanent. 💕

I had 4 rounds of Taxol. I tolerated it okay but it did leave me with challenging neuropathy in my entire lower body. Both thighs, legs, feet. Burning, stinging jolts, muscle pain. It started to go away about 9 months after I finished treatment but it never totally went away. I am back on oral chemo after a recent recurrence and the Neuropathy has been kicked up again even though I'm not on Taxol. I did find that going to the gym and using their strength training equipment leg press, abduction/adduction machines helped. Also, the Elliptical machine.
