Wondering How long it will take to heal I presently have a job that you have a lot of lifting
I had a bilateral mastectomy in June, no reconstruction. I only had lymph biopsies in the right underarm. I healed very quickly and the pain for me was not bad. I did have extreme burning post surgery when I stood up, but it went away pretty quickly. I still swell and have underarm discomfort when I use my right arm too much, pushing, pulling, lifting etc. I went to PT which helped. You will want to be careful about lifting for a while. Your doctor will be able to counsel you about that. Good luck and God bless!❤️
@A MyBCTeam Member: Listen to your body, and be patient with yourself. If you lift heavy things before you're fully healed, you could regress and recovery will be that much more difficult. You'll get there 💕 Agree 100% with PT - a good physical therapist will help you get your full range of motion back safely 👍
No lifting anything for 6 weeks. You may need physical therapy to get arm motion back to 100%
I didn't lift anything for several months. I also had a couple stitches to not close up and just healed on its on about 3 months. You don't want yo break this all loose.
It took me over a year to fully heal. Be careful as you're lifting & it could truly injure you further.
