Hi! They are goin g to start me on kadcyla instead of herceptin for the remainder of my post chemo treatments. It is herceptin plus a chemotherapy drug- emestane. Basically it targets any cell with the her2 protein and delivers the kadcyla directly to it- misses most of the healthy cells. It is more effective than herceptin alone- even for early stage bc like me. Supposedly one does not lose hair on this one. There are some other side effects. In my research, I see people with MBC posting that it was a miracle drug for them. The Katharine trial showed how effective it is for early stage treatment. Hope it helps. I’m going Thursday for my first treatment- I’ll update on side effects etc.
