I have stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer with metastasis to bones and now lungs, I guess. I was recently diagnosed with pleural effusion and they drained a lot of fluid from my left lung and implanted a pleural catheter so that I can drain when I need to. @A MyBCTeam Member - @A MyBCTeam Member is right. You need a good consult with a doctor. And maybe even a second opinion. I just read that it is crucial that a malignant pleural effusion is correctly diagnosed as opposed to a benign pleural effusion because the treatments are quite different.
Maybe you need to really get a second opinion if your doctors aren't giving you answers. And don't assume anything. They better tell you or get an expert that will tell you what is happening.
Nicole what did your Doctor tell you? It sounds like they are not communicating what's happening very well. Please reach out to them and have them clarify everything for you. You should have your mind set as ease. Blessings
