Hi Ladies,

I was pre-menopausal prior to beginning diagnosed last May. I am now on Lupron shots to shut down my ovaries and will be have a complete hysterectomy in April. The Lupron shots have given me terrible night sweats. If you have had a full hysterectomy after being on Lupron did you experience worsening night sweat or were they the same, or better? Also, what are some of the other side effects you have experienced from having a complete hysterectomy? Thanks for any info!

I would also like to tell you that kegels are imperative after a hysterectomy. Make them part of your routine. You’ll thank me in 5 years :)

I haven’t had a hysterectomy but my friend who is also an RN did and she had the same problem with hot flashes. She started taking Relizen. She said it works great. It’s over the counter but of course anyone trying it should ask their doctor. I have a picture of the box but for some reason I can’t post it. It’s 100% non hormonal. It’s some kind of flower extract

weight gain, insomnia, hot flashes. I had hysterectomy 6 years ago and only symptom I still have is hot flashes and that’s usually only during the night. I have BRCA2 so I can’t take hormone therapy. Praying you have little side effects like me :)
