I did four cycles taxotere/cytoxan every three weeks or 21 daysand i had that side effect! So tender on back of meck from shoulders to hairline. It did get better three weeks after the infusion and then when it wad time for the next cycle it was gone but would start anbout five days after the infusion. By fourth one i didnt have it at all. Prayers it will get better. Hang in there.

Chemo does give you weird symptoms. I remember my nasal passages burned for a week after each chemo. My ONC said he had never heard of it. I finally mentioned it to my chemo nurse and she told me she hears that a lot with AC. So she added more saline during the infusion and VOILA, no burning.

Sometimes we just ask too much of our bodies and suffer as a result. This is especially true of cancer patients. Follow up with both your PCP and your oncologist. I find communication and coordination between doctors offices to treat the whole patient is lacking.

They gave me my flu shot while I was sitting in the chemo chair, too. Since chemo is systemic it can affect any part of the body. It is always good to bring anything new to your ONC's attention.

I was told to get my flu shot on a day that I did not have chemo. I don't have the answer, but it is good that you have asked your physician.
