I received Lupron shots for 2 years, 11 years ago. Not going to lie, it can be tough. Mostly inconvenient, hot flashes come on fast and extreme night sweats. I think it's more severe than menopause because it comes on so fast. I just had a hysterectomy, salpingo- oophorectomy 5 months ago (my BC came back, easier this time to take it all) and the hot flashes and night sweats are not as severe as when I was on Lupron. I'm also 45 now vs 34 then, don't know if side effects are worse when you're younger. Really is a great tool for cutting off hormone production. I had my shots while also taking Tamoxifen. Can be tough on a relationship, zero libido with that combo. I recommend talking about low libido and fatigue and having a game plan before you start. This was my experience... Mentally tough, too, for me. After a year or so on the combo I started taking Effexor. Helped a little, but not in libido part. Just reminded myself of the alternative. Did it to stay cancer-free. (May sound like a bad example since mine came back after 11 years but 11 years cancer-free is a good thing.) Good luck! Remember the big picture.

My hot flashes are terrible now, I can’t imagine them getting worse! Good to know about the libido and fatigue. I think you are right about the big picture. I will be curious to see how this next phase plays out. Stay strong!
