I have had two serious falls within the last four months. Falling down the stairs which prompted a CT scan of my brain and one during a 5k race. Neither time did I feel dizzy prior to falling and could not believe I was falling. My ct scan came back negative. But, came across an article on facebook that talked about balance issues after chemo.
I have not fallen thank God but I do have balance issues and like over stepping issues. It's hard to explain.
I had ankle weakness due to taxol. My dr ended the treatment early bc of that.
Hi @A MyBCTeam Member, I fell down a few times when i had tissue expanders and a ct scan didnt show anything, but I had an MRI after the exchange surgery and that showed demylinating lesions on my brain. That had nothing to do with cancer, but i guess im trying to say not everything shows up on ct scans. You might want to ask for an MRI if, and i hope you never fall again.
I was falling because my blood pressure would suddenly drop, i didnt know i was falling until it happend. Peripheral neuropathy can cause those sudden drops in pressure. I bought a bp machine and sure enough I would measure my bp when i would feel off and my bp would be low.
Thank you for all your great advice and confirmation that I am just not becoming clumsy.
@A MyBCTeam Member I totally understand what you mean by that. It’s like our perception is off.
