Shopping For Sleep Cap Advice
I started searching online for a "sleep cap". Apparently some people wear them at night to keep head warm and comfortable. I have no idea which material, style, etc. to purchase. I purchased so many bras before finding one that works! I hope I do not have to do the same with the sleep cap. Thanks!
I ended up purchasing so many different type of caps and many I couldn't use. When I lost my hair I still had some stubble and wearing any hats for an extended period itched like crazy. I was cold at night but just bundled up under the covers. I did my chemo August though the end of January and we live in Northeast Ohio where it is cold. During the day when I went out I wore something called Chemo Beanies which I found on Amazon. They were the most comfortable. They are made by 2 sisters who had breast cancer and come in a ton of colors and prints. Another good source for caps is the TLC direct cancer catalog.
I found one I really like in the hospital cancer shop. It is made from bamboo and is really soft!
I ended up buying several bamboo and got some wig caps that are made out of bamboo as well. Very soft and comfortable.
I made all my sleep caps from old tee shirts. Very simple to make if you sew at all.
I prefer bamboo over cotton. I felt it’s softer on my head. Just finished my chemo and hair hasn’t grown back. I got mine online too headcovers.com
