Usually with lumpectomy there are no drains unless the lymph nodes under the arm are affected. Usually no drains for the removal of the sentinel nodes..I wear support bras from Walmart... buy them bigger than usual so they aren’t so tight. No drains for me... some lymphedema ... no compression sleeve. Massage breast daily drawing fluid under your arm. I am one year out from surgery... all good so far! Yeah!

I had a drain that I emptied out every day. I also wore my surgical bra for 2 weeks, till my stitches were out. I had lumpectomy and 3 lymphnodes out. The bad part was I wasn't allowed to shower before stiches and dtain were out. I had no pain whatsoever after surgery, a headache is worse.
