We are planning a summer elopement but now that I may be having chemo before then, I am thinking of eloping before the treatment would start. I do not want to look back on my wedding photos and see myself sick from chemo or in a wig. I like my hair now, although if I lose it, I know it will grow back. I am okay with that, but just not in my wedding photo. I don't mean to be vain...but it is my wedding! Any thoughts?
I kept thinking I was going to be the only one in the world that wouldn't loose my hair during chemo. I was wrong and by the 2nd treatment it began. Someone advised me to order a wig before it started to come out and she was so right. I became very used to it and it looked just like what it was before chemo. It gave me a lot of comfort for many months until my hair started to grow back within weeks of finishing chemo. It takes a while but it does come back. That wig got me through. The doc will give you a prescription to purchase it and your insurance should pay for it depending on who you use. Best wishes to you and your fiancé!

I had long hair that I cut prior to my first round of chemo to ease the process of losing my hair. However, I ended up developing a rash 4 days after my first chemo that cause severe itching and pain on my scalp that I ended up shaving my head to ease the discomfort and apply medication to my head.
