Does anyone or did anyone experience any scar tissue months after their bilateral mastectomy. I am still flat but I have noticed a lump now which feels like scar tissue but I didn't have it before. It was more fluid build up. I am waiting reconstruction and had expanders taken out and I will wait until I was totally done with treatment. So, now I am done and I feel this hard tissue. Can anyone help?

I have the same issues. Had the flap reconstruction and now how two hard balls on each breast. Tried lymphatic massage and it helped but they never go away 100%. Now my plastic surgeon is giving me shots of anti inflamatory med on each breast, it helps with pain and disc comfort and breaks the scar tissue, but I will need 5 weeks of shots in my breasts.

Mederma is an over the counter product which is great for scars. It is massaged into the area to help break up the build up of collagen which is causing the scar.

Hey Stef, I saw a massage therapist, she was mainly working on the pain in my shoulder but showed me how to massage the scars. I had no clue how important that would be. I guess we are just stumbling through this treatment and doing the best we can, this site is a huge help!!

I ended up with a mastectomy scar neuroma which my sugeon removed during my second scar revision. Now I’m very pleased with my flat chest and after 4 years, my scars are fading nicely.

I have had that, too. My breast surgeon did a needle aspiration, and as she thought, it was just fat necrosis. I know it's not ideal, but I was relieved it was benign. I would point it out to your MO or BS. They may have a suggestion to break it down a bit. Best wishes to you:)
