I had Herceptin but all 12 treatments were infusions... just finished my last one Thurs.

Yes when i switched to infusions - they had to clear it through insurance but insurance covered it either way as I am guessing yours might as well. I thought I read somewhere that the injection was actually cheaper if you can imagine.

I had that same question. The infusion nurse said it depends on what my insurance wii pay for. Awful reason, but that’s what she said.

I had herceptin with perjeta infusions with chemo 6 times. Then I had the injection of Herceptin and perjeta for 4 times and took a break because I was doing radiation as well and my nephropathy was very bad. Just now switched to only Herceptin in an infusion since the side effects are much less - hope I can now tolerate that for my last 7 sessions. I was told the seperate infusions had lower risks than the combined injection. But I didnt know this till later on when I wanted to stop the injection. I think the benefits of the medicines wether injection or infusion are equal.
I would recommend two things: ask if side effects are different and your insurance covers with er way.
I also will add the injections is quicker than the infusion and I still need my port for the infusion and it was painful to have it being used for the loading dose which was 90 minutes.
