I had BMX after no clear margins from lumpectomy, no rad/chemo. I think its the best way to go. Radiation is very damaging to the skin.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who ended up doing BMX after having prior radiation. I had radiation in 2004 and now have recurrence in one breast and new DCIS/IDC in other, so thinking of doing BMX with immediate reconstruction, but worried that the previously radiated one won't take (70% chance it will). Curious to hear from anyone who has done it as well.

I also had bmx with no rads/chemo. Had tissue expanders for 4 months, then the exchange to implants. Because of my type of cancer, they couldn't save nipples, so that changes the look at this point. Will have that done at some time in the future. Otherwise, pretty happy with the results.

Hi, are you wondering how the BMX would look? I did BMX and no rads/chemo with direct to implant reconstruction. I have no problem sending you some pics - we did a picture every two weeks post op so that we could see progress. We are currently at 20 weeks. Let me know and I will PM something to you.
