I am estrogen and progesterone Positive. I was told by my gynecologist that I was in Menopause, so the oncologist wanted my IUD removed. Well I have had my period twice since the removal early Feb. I have had very dry and burning and night sweats, so I wanted to know if I can take Estroven (over the counter)?
My breast surgeon said no on the OTC Estrogen like products I am ER & PR pos. but always contact your Doc.
If you are having periods how can you be in menopause? Did they test your hormone levels? Have you started tamoxifen or an aromatase inhibitor?Estroven has estrogen and that would not be good for your cancer. Sounds like you need to go back to your doctors to figure out what is going on. I would not take any estrogen products without talking to your doctor. A lot of OTC meds can counteract the efficacy of your chemo and treatment meds. Sounds like you are starting menopause due to treatment but there are other things they can give you to ease those symptoms.
I would think no OTC estrogen products for ER/PR +
I was post menopausal when I was diagnosed. I was HER2+ they said under no means do any kind of hormone replacement. they want to rid it of my body.
