I need to go back and read my pathology again too. It was very confusing. SInce my mammogram only showed a small tumor they scheduled a Sentinnel biopsy and only injected dye into the main tumor. WHen they found the other tumors, they wanted me to go back in surgery to have all my lymph nodes taken out. My breast surgeon was hesitant to do that because I am diabetic and healing time would be extended and would put off chemo. MY Sentinnel node was negative and my margins were all clear. In the back of my mind I am still wondering if one of those other tumors might have drained into a different Sentinnel node which they didn't check.

My mammogram showed one 2.1 cm tumor that was IDC? AFter my mastectomy the pathology said there were 4 separate tumors, some instu and some other things. The new size was 7.1 cm. Since my original tumor was small they only did a Sentinnel biopsy.

I had cancer only n one breast and the other was in situ waiting for cancer yo appear there one day. My dr advised me to have bilateral mastectomy which I did because I didn't not want to go through this surgery twice.

I think with Dcis or Lcis if yuh have a mastectomy, the only additional treatment is hormone therapy unless the margins were not clear. You will get hormone therapy for your primary cancer. I had same pathology.
