I actually "fired" my first breast surgeon, and my plastic surgeon receommnede a new one (who is AMAZING) because the first surgeon refused to do anything BUT lumpectomy and rads. I said insurance will cover the bilaterall and recon and that is what I want.

He tried to bully me in to the lump/rads. My plastic surgeon, who is very well known for his level of skills, said he would love to keep me as a patient, but could not help me after rads.

New breast surgeon totally supported the plan and said it was appropriate if I wanted it. My plastic surgeon and breast surgeon did great work.

Still working on getting the girls going where they should be, but scars heal, and no rads or chemo means no long term side effects and god know what.

My plastic surgeon said it is very hard to work with irradiated tissue. It is fine for lump and rads but if cancer comes back to same breast and you then want a mastectomy, that is when reconstruction is hard.

I personally felt bullied into treatment I didn't agree with or understand either. I am so proud of you for pushing back ❤️

I have no answers for you. I am being told I can't just get reconstruction over my radiated breast tissue and will need a flap graft. I think others have had implants and looked fine.
I already look and feel like a monster, I dont have to have nipples but I'd like to look as nice as possible after this is over breast shape wise.
I didn't like the tamoxifen studies, it was a personal no for me. ❤ we all have this crazy ride to get through together, but we all just try to go with the best choices we know to make.

Are you saying you can't have reconstruction in future if you had radiation ? Im too scared to take tomoxofin . I'm thinking about skipping that and doing holistic ? Not sure what to do .
