Just beware of ice. I burned myself using a hot pack below my breast and it barel touched my breast and I got a 3rd degree burn. Did not heal for 14 weeks even after doing multiple hyperbaric treatments . Had to have it surgically closed. When I was on the internet saw other cases and done cases involving ice. Just be super careful. Even read of a women that just had augmentation burn herself with ice and whole breast got necrotic! Yikes! I learned the hard way.

@A MyBCTeam Member - oh ouch but I don't understand - you said you burned yourself with a "hot pack" not ice so I don't know what you mean. I just take an ice pack and wrap it in a towel and put it on the area. You barely feel it and it warms up so quickly I don't see how you could get burned with that. Maybe if you put the cold ice directly on your skin but I don't think anyone would recommend that. Hope you are doing OK now.

I seem to remember that sharp deep pain pretty frequently at first on rising in the morning for roughly six months. I still get it ( feels like a bruised rib, doesn't it?) when I've slept on my foob wrong for too many hours. It IS a rude way to wake, to be reminded of your past cancer! Not the desired first thought of the day 😒! But, the Fact is we now have a foreign thing pretty much sitting directly atop our ribcage, with very little additional tissue above it to cushion pressures from the outside world.
If it doesn't subside on rising ice or a warm wet washcloth for a few should help.

I had reconstruction in April I have pain all the time especially around the top of implant along down the side under arm pit. I hope it doesn't last for much longer so I can try to adjust to my new normal

Sorry I can't say, my surgery is scheduled for November. What type did you have? I am having DEIP flap not implants. Hope your pain goes away soon.
