Are there any details on what to expect after both surgeries or any special practices to do to make sure the recovery goes well-I am so worried about recovery - I ride/jump horses and have an 8acre farm with 4 horses on property- I own 6
I had bilateral mastectomy and then the exchange surgery (Tissue expanders to implants). Not a horse rider though. Are you asking about the mastectomy and then the exchange surgery? Mastectomy, I was out of work for about 5 weeks and with the exchange about a week. I am guessing there are muscles in your arms and chest that you would use while riding horses. Even a year later, there are still things I don't think I would dare do... Bowling comes to mind... I would definitely get the clearance from your surgeons...If you have any specific questions...just ask
I didn't have to have tissue expanders because I had implants prior to my diagnosis.
