I had delayed reconstruction, lost 50 lbs to do flap. There are risks with any reconstruction. One flap was successful. The other failed. A year after, I had expander then implant. So I have one of each. I am more happy with flap. Very soft and feels real. Implant is ok but not as soft. I've had friends feel them and some have guessed wrong. I still need some fixing up as implant side is smaller so I'll have fat transfer done. I'm also leaning towards flat 3D nipple tattooing.

I also wanted to mention they took my left abdominal muscle out to make that breast and the right side of my stomach bulges out big time looks like i'm pregnant and it's hard as a rock...

Hi @A MyBCTeam Member, I can not imagine what your going through that's horrible!! I had the same surgery Tram Flap in 2012 and it was the worst thing I could of done it's been a major regret.. First of all the healing ng recovery was insane after a month of my family packing the open gap from hip to hip the surgeon finally decides to use a wound vac and that stayed on for almost 3 months with home nurses coming out to my house 3 times a week super long healing process my breast almost didn't survive it cracked in half and they had to wound vac that to but I wanted to say from day one i've felt a sharp pain in my stomach which I thought was the mesh they sewed inside me when I felt that I would just go lay down life became more comfortable laying down well after yrs of that lifestyle i've put on 40 lbs not good and i've never fully recovered back to my old self with energy and motivation to get out and take charge sorta thing... Anyways I got off track a little but I wanted to tell you i've had ultrasounds and MRI on it thinking the mesh has caused havoc in my stomach but everything shows it's okay yeah it's okay if i'm laying down and that's all those type test show cause you can't move but what there not getting is it hurts when i'm up moving around bending over it's stabbing something... I also have spoke to a woman I met in another group and 5 yrs into her Tram Flap she to got a sore it started off small then grew to the size of a quarter to a silver dollar they went in and did surgery and basically had to cut her from hip to hip again just like the original tram flap and look inside there and that mesh was deteriorated inside it was all over her major organs and pulling all the fibers and chunks of mesh out was horrible they had to do it in a couple of surgeries... So PLEASE research this and ask your doctor if this could possibly be happening I hope not in your case but i'm really sorry it sounds like what happened to her i'm not trying to scare you but these things happen we never look at the long run on these types of surgeries we just want a boob at whatever cost ... Your in my prayers SweetVee I hope they get to the root of this problem and hopefully it's not that mesh...

That sounds unusual. But I might be wrong. I had saline implants but know three others who had trans and they are thrilled years later making me wish I had done it.
