Just curious how many Stage IV are on here. I'm interested in seeing who has stage IV, how long you have been living with it and what treatments did and didn't work for you. Also who is in remission (or NED)?
You have our prayers for sure!!!!! I had my follow up PETscan and mammo and sono and it showed a small nodule on my left lung and some calcifications on the left breast.
In a few weeks I will have a chest CT scan and I'm guessing they will want to biopsy the lung nodule and the left breast calcifications. PRAYING that all will be benign. I finished chemo about nine months ago and had surgery last April and then 33 radiation treatments for the right breast, collarbone area ,right side and center.
Praying we all become cancer free FOREVER , and no recurrence for any of us. That's all we want.
I began my journey Sept 2012.. Stage IV I have been on infusions of Perjeta and Herceptin since Aug 2013 after the 12 infusions of Taxotere, Perjeta and Herceptin. I will go for my 60th infusion next week but the treatments are keeping me in remission. My oncologist was so excited when I saw him 5 weeks ago to tell me I had been in remission for 30 months.. I have been so blessed. We should all be thankful so the strength we were given to fight this disease. Prayers for your continued success.
I'm stage IV with bone metastis. Diagnosed just 3 years ago in March. Have had Taxol (5 mos), Faslodex (8 months), Xeloda (briefly-2 mos), Taxol again until it stopped working (8 months), nothing for 2.5 mos and finally Gematbine/Taxotere cocktail (just stopped 3 weeks ago to give my body a rest, plus tumors had shrunk)!. Off until my body tells me tumors growing again!
Also, if your on Facebook, I joined a site called Care, Comfort, Compassion for MBC, closed group, if you want to check it out, I get FB. for some reason.
Trying to enjoy the beach weather and pool but just can't do it much. I have new pain in ribs. I've had a fracture in one from the get go and even lying in bed is sometimes torment. I go through the whole scan thing the first of July. Hoping for the best but also preparing for the worst. This seems to be my life fighting cancer.
Hope you enjoy your summer and that you are doing well. My kids & grandkids will be down in July so hopefully this will get me out of the doldrums!
Take care. Thinking of you. 🌞
