How long has anyone had chemo brain/forgetfulness last? I had my last treatment about 7 months ago and it seems to be getting worse. Today was horrible. I would stop mid sentence and have to ask the other person what it was we were talking about. And if it is someone who doesn't know my story, I feel embarrassed and they think I am losing my mind.
I'm 2 years out and still have. Can't remember the simplest words or an entire sentence comes out completely different than what was in my head.
It is frustrating because no one understands. That causes stress. I'm almost two years since last chemo and still experiencing short term memory loss, word loss and still have a difficult time with concentration. I had never heard of this from my medical team.
I finished my last chemo July 30, 2015 and I will be mid sentence and be like "wait what was I just talking about?" I was just talking to someone about this today. So frustrating. The good news is we are all still here talking about it. Good job ladies!!! Keep it up!!!
It has been 4.5 yrs since I finished my chemo. Even though my memory has improved, I still have episodes particularly with short term memory.
It has been 18 months and I still have chemo brain. It is not as bad. At least I know words and don't lose my sentences much. I still have problems multitasking and cannot remember people and face very good or make the wrong association with people (among other things). Just lucky to be alive and healthy.
