I had onco score of 31, which meant my decision was made and I was good with it. Chemo was not so bad - eat very well and exercise as much as you can through out. I felt it was a good thing for me and hope it will be for you too!!

Pupukea - I was also lymph node neg, ER/PR+, and HER2-. I had 4 chemo treatments, once every 3 weeks. I was given Cytoxan, and Taxotere. With every treatment I had a different reaction, which I was told was normal. Biggest side effect was exhaustion. I am going to be straight forward and honest about my treatments/reaction- I did not realize how tired you can be. But some of that was my fault. The day after my first treatment I went furniture shopping, not to one store but five- because I felt fine, I was still working, and as hard as the decision was to stop working, that was in my best interest. I worked 2 weeks after my first treatment. After my second treatment was the worst reaction, I was down and out for 5 days. After my 3rd treatment I was only down 1 day and after the 4th treatment I was only down for 2 days. They told me I would start losing my hair in 14-21 days, and she was dead on, day 14! Oh ya they fail to inform you that you will lose ALL your hair, like your entire body. Best part, didn't have to shave my legs for 4 months!!! Wished it were summer time instead of winter. My nose ran constantly, because you lose all the little hairs in your nose. I hope this helps!

I think with Oncotype 26 your oncologist will encourage you to choose chemo. I had chemo; it is doable. If you have any questions, please let me know.

I was stage 1, grade 2, ER+/PR-/HER2- with an oncotype of 27, so in that grey area. My oncologist was insistent I did chemo and although I didn't want to, now that it's over I am glad I did. I had eight rounds of the AC/T protocol - felt bad days 3,4 and 5 but pretty okay until the next session. One redeeming feature was that the hair on my legs came back much less ( I had hairy legs! ) and my underarm hair didn't come back at all:) Good luck with whatever you decide!
