Perjeta is relatively newly approved. Journal reports I have found (for there was no perjeta approved in Canada at the time of my treatment...reports that perjeta in combination with chemo and Herceptin proved the most significant results during all clinical trials on Stage 4 BC. It is now approved here and is gaining great traction in results not seen before for some women.
I took Perjeta with Herceptin and had no hair loss. It is growing crazy with curls. Still sucks to have to go through but I had very few side effects. Good Luck.
When I was getting the "nasty" chemo of Docetaxel, Herceptin and Perjeta I did lose my hair. It's the Docetaxel that causes it. I'm now on "maintenance" chemo of just Herceptin and Perjeta (because I'm hormone positive) and there is no hair loss with these two. It is an easy infusion - takes about 2 hours (compared to like 5 hours with the Docetaxel) so don't sweat it - you will be fine.
Thank you so much!
