Has anyone taking arimidex experienced depression or mood changes? If so, what can be done to help ?
I have not experienced mood swings and am sorry that RosannDT you are experiencing hip pain but am glad to know I am not alone with the hip pain. I didn't cry for 2 weeks after my dx but I have such horrible left hip pain I wake up during the night crying. Even if I am sleeping on my right side my left hip hurts horribly !! I also quit having hot flashes after my radiation but once I started the Anastrozole my hot flashes came back with a vengeance :/
My doctor to,d me if I experienced depression or tingling in my hands or feet to stop the meds and call him. I didn't experience depression but had to change meds bc of the tingling.
I take it one minute I'm hot one minute I'm cold some times it helps but not all the Time I take it only because I'm on so many different med I don't won't to be put on anything else I have to take a cancer pill every day for the next 5years that's not all I take 12pills in the morning and2in the afternoon and 6 before I go to bed but I thank God I'm a fighter
@A MyBCTeam Member - thanks Cindy. Yes the hip pain is horrible and I told my doctor and he switched me off the anastrozole over to exemestane (generic of aromasin) and so far so good as far as the hip pain. I'm like you, pain in the left hip and I sleep on my right side but the pain would be worse laying down and would radiate all the way down my leg. I woke up (if I fell asleep) crying too. So far with the exemestane the hip pain is minimal and mostly just if I'm carrying something heavier on my left side (like my purse). I'm sleeping much better with pretty much no pain. The only side effect I'm dealing with now is the itching. Started with mostly just the left arm but last night it was both arms - it got so bad it felt like I wanted to just tear the skin off. My pharmacist recommended clear calamine lotion and that helps some. I have a PET scan scheduled for Monday at my cancer center so I will go upstairs after that and tell my oncologist how it's going. He said he's open to try all the drugs available - he said they are all pretty similar in compound but for some reason, women react differently to different ones. If this one doesn't agree with me he said I can try Femara. I've never gotten hot flashes with any of the meds - but then I never had hot flashes (that I can remember) even when I went through menopause.
