My surgeon made me feel strange for wanting a flat chest after bilateral mastectomy (no reconstruction) but a tummy tuck during surgery. I'm bothered more by my protruding stomach, due to abdominal separation and umbilical hernia, than I am of my dented, asymmetrical breasts after lumpectomy. I really don't care about my small boobs anyway. She said she wouldn't think that someone who doesn't care about being flat would care about their appearance of their stomach!

your surgeon is missing out on a big surgery and the surgeon should not of made that comment about the tummy tuck. you maybe smarter to not risk further complications from more surgeries. you can get prosthetic so and insurance will pay for them. a new pair every couple of years. I was a surgical tech (until I lost my job from bc) .I too more upset about my tummy sticking out. I had the right breast removed. I couldn't risk having more surgeries and lose my job and making my husband worry needlessly. more power to you . I think it is a smart option.
I signed the papers and paid my deposit for my tummy tuck. It will be done at the same time as my bilateral mastectomy with no reconstruction. I found some really cute pocketed bikinis and am kind of excited to be moving forward.
