My drain holes will probably hurt forever. Feels like they left something behind. Surgeon says its normal. Gee thanks.

I get them myself. Ive read alot and questioned my doctors. They confirmed it is normal. The nerves from the breast to the hearts are obviously affected and twinges are normal. Just the nerves reacting.

I am 15 years out from my mastectomy and still get sharp pains between my ribs on occasion.

I have sharp, stabbing pains on my right side too. My oncologist says it's because of the nerves they may have damaged during the surgery. She said that it is normal. I had my surgery in March, and I can say they aren't as frequent, but when they do come, it will catch you off guard. They do get farther apart as time goes on. 💕
