I have been taking Femara for about a year now and about 4 months after I started taking it, my index finger on my right hand began sticking. It did start in 3 of my fingers in my left hand, but that has all but disappeared. After some research I found out it was trigger finger. After more research, I found it was possibly from the Femara. Has anyone else had this side-effect? It is worse in the morning. Warm water, paraffin dips, and immobilization have provided temporary relief. I take… read more

I'm with you there. This is an absolutely horrible drug. Considering going off the grid. I'd rather face another round of breast cancer in 10 years than another 4 years of this drug and the side effects.

We should all go into the medical field and invent a medicine that doesn't have so many nasty side effects.

I was taking Letrozole for 9 months. First 6 months, not so bad. Last 3 months, horrible! Fatigue, hot flashes, night sweats, WAY worse then when I went through menopause. I was essentially non-functional, unemployed and looking for a new job.

My oncologist suggested that I ask my primary care physician for a prescription for an anti-depressant. She refused to prescribe it because she said I was not depressed and the side-effects from the anti-depressant would make the side effects (in addition to all of the above, dry mouth and constipation) worse.

I made a decision to stop taking it without consulting with my oncologist. I the tip from my primary care physician who told me I should stop taking it. I am married but have no children, if that's a factor for anyone.

So I stopped taking in in late October. Went to see my oncologist in February and he had no idea that I'm not still taking it!

It's a racket! Anyone on this drug should consider stop taking it. It's rat poison for humans!

Seriously, consider quality of life. Not a tough decision in my mind!

I had trigger finger while on arimidex.I would tell you to have a sec. Opinion because I found out that the Aromasin is 25 milligrams not 20 and was for late stage breast cancer. I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Breast Cancer and no lymph node involvement. I was pissed about this..

@A MyBCTeam Member I have the same thing with my feet, my right hand and right wrist and my back. Because the medication we take messes around with our hormones, our bodies get irritated and retaliate through I flammation of our joints and bones. Make sure that you are taking vitamin d and calcium supplements. These meds are know for thinning our bones. So if/when can exercise do so. Helps with stress and pain management (endorphins). We also need to do weight-bearing exercised to strengthen our bones. And keep a positive attitude, laugh and make the most of each day to the fullest!
