Just had my blood work done and my platelets dropped from180 to 154 . Have any of yall had this occur and do you know what the cause could be?

154 is in the normal range as is 180. It is normal to fluctuate within the normal range. Everyone does. Not a problem.

Radiation can do that, too. Not to the extreme as chemo, but it can do it. If that's what caused it, it will normal out before long.

chemo can cause your counts to drop. I have had 4 iron infusions because it caused me to be anemic.

Then, what were your lymphocytes or your white count if they didn't do the differential?

It was higher in Feb when I was 6 weeks out from rad. Just don't know why it dropped so far out from treatment. Guess they are not too worried since they don't draw blood til sept :-}
