How soon after radiation did your Dr. order a mamogram or ultrasound?
Thank you !!! My rad ended in dec and they did an ultrasound today since I am still too sore for a mamagram .
hi @A MyBCTeam Member~ my surgeons go to RN scheduled my mammogram for 6 months after my lumpectomy surgery. (I had surgery Feb 9, 15 and mammo is scheduled for Nov. I don't have the exact date in front of me.)
I finished radiation on March 12. I had a follow up appt. With my Dr. On March 31. My mammogram won't be until September. I had lumpectomy with no lymph nodes involved.
I ended my radiation on August 26th. I was scheduled for a mammogram Nov. 20th. I was too sore so my Dr. rescheduled for February 20th and I was still very sore so I talked to my radiation oncologist about it and he prescribed me Medrol and told me to start taking it 2 days before the mammo. It is a 6 day pak and it eases some of the soreness for 2 or 3 days but when the treatment is over the soreness comes back. I made it through the mammo but it did hurt.
