Time between ending chemo and starting radiation.

I completed chemo today. I have my mapping for radiation on October 16th. I was told radiation would begin 4 wks after chemo. We shall see. I will let you know. Enjoy a pleasant night! ❤️
@A MyBCTeam Member I completed chemo in June and had to take a 4 week break due to lung issues before I could start 6 weeks of radiation.
Mu surgeon had me schedule my lumpectomy for 4-6 weeks after my last chemo, to give my body some time to heal. I had it exactly 4 weeks after my last chemo. After the results from the lumpectomy, I met with a radiation doc to discuss my options. So, I think it was another month or so after my surgery that I started my radiation treatments; 8-9 weeks total. I probably could have started sooner, but had a slight complication. I had to get another mamma, as my surgeon thought the biopsy clip may not have been removed and they wanted to know that prior to starting the radiation. In fact, it had not been removed, but had no bearing on the radiation treatments, so I was able to start after that. You probably can start sooner, but I think your docs will recommend at least 4 weeks.
